Melody

Okay, even I can’t read ALL the time, so I’m guessing that you folks might voluntarily shut the covers from time to time as well… What else do you do with your leisure to pass the time? Walk the dog? Knit? Run marathons? Construct grandfather clocks? Collect eggshells?

Well, I read to and from my way to work since I don't have a vehicle. It takes me about an hour travelling on a single trip so I can actually read a lot given if the book really grabs my attention. And sometimes when I don't feel like going out for lunch at work, I will packet my lunch and read to my heart's content, but this is rare since I'd go out with my coworkers where we can talk about anything and/or unwind and vent our frustrations if we encounter something unhappy at work and just want to have someone's listening ears. And I hardly find the time to read at home since my daughter always want our attentions. So I really treasure every moment of my reading time. However, if there are times I couldn't get myself to read, I'd put on some CDs to relax my mind. Or I'd probably catch up with some DVDs since I still have one or two drama serials that I have yet to finish watching. Besides that, I also love window shopping but it's more like a once a week's affair. What about you? ;)

  4. With kids, it's hard to find leisure time.

Gautami, I don't mind having some time for sleep too, hehe...

Alice, how I wish there's more than 24 hours a day! LOL.

CJ, it's a good time to read, besides passing time that is. ;)

    Chris, you said it! :P

  6. Amy Says:

Sometimes I wish I had a commute so I could have more time to read. ;)

Kids do tend to suck up my leisure time too.

  7. Iliana Says:

One job I had I also had a long commute so I actually did do a lot of reading on the bus. Plus, it saved me from having to talk to any weirdos :)

I like window-shopping, too. Such an 'inexpensive' activity!

Cool, you read while you travel. When I travel by bus, I usually look out the window and dream and just observe on what's going on out there. Helps to pass the time!

I don't have an hour (that would be heaven!), but I get about 20 minutes each way of reading time on my commute. It's a nice way to break hard-to-read classics up in managable chunks.

I love listening to music, too, but usually while I am doing something else like driving or cooking.

Hey, Melody! Thanks for stopping by my site! I enjoyed writing about my daughter's birthday, but it was a difficult task since I'm out of practice! I hadn't realized it had been a whole month since my last list!
It always amazes me how many pages you read in a day, and how many books you get through in only a week's time! Hard to believe you do all those other things!

  13. I am listening to music right now. :-) I also like to listen to music in my leisure time. I don't often listen to music when I read because I tune sounds out so easily, but I do like to listen to music when I'm blog hopping or writing up a review.

I also read when I travel. Or nowadays I actually listen to audiobooks especially on buses. I also watch a lot of tv-series on DVD.

Amy, I enjoy my reading time during commute but not so when there's the time that it gets too crowded! ;P

I definitely agree with you on that, Iliana! :D

Josette, I can't read while in the bus because I will feel guilty, but I have no problem reading in the train though. Weird, I know... ;)

Ebony, I feel so lucky if only my office is so near to my home! ;) Having to travel an hour's journey to work is no fun, but I'm glad reading helps to pass off the time!

Barbara, I love that too! The only thing is I can't listen to music and read at the same time! LOL.

Thanks, Pussreboots. I will visit your blog and read your answers in a moment. :)

Hey Kathy! I really think that's a wonderful post about your daughter!! I think I have to thank my 2-hrs journey's trip to work every day for my reading, haha!

Me too, Wendy! I don't think I can listen to music and read at the same time. :P

Julia, I know what you mean! :P The same applies to me too.

Mervi, I have yet to try audiobooks, although I think I'd still prefer books. ;)
