2016 Year in Review: Top Reads


As the year comes to a close, I took a look back at the books I read and remember those reading moments which evoked various emotions in me. There are some excellent books which left me in thoughts till present, and there are some not-so-good books that I wished I'd liked them better but glad that I read them nonetheless. Without further ado, here is a list of my top reads this year (sequence not in any order and not necessarily published in 2016):

  1. I loved that you also included your favorite cover! I haven't read any of the books on your favorites list but can't wait to read some of them. In particular the Ruth Ware book. My mystery book group is reading that one in a couple of months. Yay. Happy New Year, Melody!

    It's fun to look back and see what genres and authors gave us pleasure....

  4. You have several on your list that I enjoyed as well! I liked both of Clare Mackintosh's books, love Sarah J. Maas' series, and loved Uprooted by Novik as well. Still haven't read Tana French's latest, but I am looking forward to it. Happy New Year, Melody!

  6. Our stats are very close in terms of number of books read and male to female ratio. :-) The Sun is Also a Star is one of my favorites of 2016 as well. And I'm so glad to see A Man Called Ove on your list.

    1. Wendy - I tend to read more female authors as compared to male authors. I suppose it's the genres they write; and I think that's because female authors cover a more wider genre, come to think of it. :)
