I have posted this on my blog some time ago, but just haven't got around of doing it. The reason for my delay is I have to go through my huge TBR pile and finally decided on some books I want to read for each category (it's hard narrowing to one for each). Anyway, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Annie for hosting this challenge (please click here for more details).
Dates: January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008
The Challenge: Choose one book from each of the following categories
1. A book with a color in its title
Blue Justice by Illona Hans
2. A book with an animal in its title
Cat O'Nine Tales: And Other Stories by Jeffrey Archer
3. A book with a first name in its title
Getting Rid of Bradley by Jennifer Crusie
4. A book with a place in its title
Amsterdam by Ian McEwan
5. A book with a weather event in its title
Into The Storm by Suzanne Brockmann
6. A book with a plant in its title
The Ghost Orchid by Carol Goodman
LOL! We did a lot of these on the JDRobb list already:
October '05 was the color in the title
January '08 will be the animal in the title
May '07 was the name in the title
January '06 was a book with an address in the title, which is pretty close to a place
Weather was a little different--November '05 was a book that started with a description of the weather, and February and August '06 were books that reminded you of warmer or cooler weather, respectively.
We haven't done any with plants. I'll have to use weather & plants in the titles for future challenges--thanks for the suggestions! :)
Wow, what interesting themes! If you have any reading challenges in future, do let me know! ;)
Hey Melody! I didn't know that the challenge only begins in Jan 2008. I've started it by reading Marley and Me (a book with a first name in its title). LOL.
Happy reading!
Wow, great choice of books! It would take me a while to find a book for each of those categories, too. I'm not even sure I have ones in my TBR pile with those specs :)
Happy Reading!!!
No prob, Alice. I'm sure you can always find the books with those themes! Happy reading to you too!
Hey Stacy, thanks! It took me a while, but I'm glad to be able to find a book for each category... ;) Now I can't wait for this to begin!
Darla is right, we have used many of those for our JDRobb challenge already. We have two challenge game playing in our JDRobb group. I can't wait to see what Darla can come with us next...
Melody - Sound like you going to have lot of fun with this challenge. Interesting that you add "Into the Storm" by Suzanne Brockmann. :)
Thanks, Julia! I'm sure you will be thrilled to hear I will be reading Suzanne's book soon. ;P
Yep - I am thrill...did you hear my scream? ;) hehehe
