First of all, let me wish all my American friends a Happy Independence Day! So what did you all do on this day? Share with me...I'd love to hear them from you.

I have been sick for the past few days...actually have been weeks. Initially it all started with a cough, this has been going on for about two weeks, and when I thought it was getting better, I came down with flu. Visited the clinics several times, completed a few courses of antibiotics, and then...to my horror, I lost my senses of smell and taste. I consulted the doctor, he said it was normal, considering that I had cough and a blocked nose. I was so worried. I mean, I love food. Life will be meaningless to me if I can't smell or taste. Finally...just this morning, I can begin to smell and taste a little. I miss some of my favourite food. I tell myself when I'm fully recovered, the first thing I will do is to indulge myself with lots of food and cold drinks. You wouldn't believe how miserable I was for the past few weeks. Anyway, I make sure I drink lots of water every day and wear a jacket in the office, because my workstation is out in the open and the air-conditioning is in full blast. But then when I step out of the office, the weather is bright and sunny outside. No wonder I'm sick. Oh, well.

I'm behind my reading. The reason? Read above. Ha! But I do managed to read a few chapters on my way to work this morning, and it's getting very intense.

Mentioning of reading, I can't wait to get a copy of Hidden Agendas by Lora Leigh, and The Six Sacred Stones by Matthew Reilly. It always seems like a long wait to me whenever his next book is released, and I love reading his books.

And mentioning of books always reminds me of my TBR pile. Yesterday when I got home from work, I noticed a pile of my books which I stacked on my study desk (and against the wall) have tumbled. Sometime ago, someone asked me how come I am able to stack them without having them falling, so now they do. And no prize for guessing correctly, because they are way too many! Haha. But that won't stop me from buying more books in future. Yeah, that's me.

I think I have enough ramblings for today. I hope all of you have a wonderful day.

Wow... I'm trying to imagine Mel's TBR pile. Must be a mountain of books. I'm getting worried about mine too. Hubby thinks I'm obsessive, and I'm getting more from Singapore when I visit in 3 week's time. Trying to get some Anne Stuart titles back home...

Get well soon, Mel. Suggest proposing to boss about hiring hunk to be seated next to you to provide some heat to counter the central air-conditioning. LOL.

    Keep well!!

*sigh*....I'm worry about you. I still think you should atlease tell the boss about the air condition situation. Maybe to move your desk around in another position so that you will face away from the air condition. I know these things, It happen to me once. Yeah I know, you won't listen to me LOL

But take care of yoursel thought...and I know what you mean about TBR piles, mine is building up and family and friends just don't understand my love for the books....

Hi Alice! Thanks. I will propose your idea to my boss...hopefully he will understand. Hahaha!

Hi Julia! Thanks for your concern. I have called up the maintenance staff and told them about my condition; but the thing is because the system is centrally controlled, that means some other offices will be stuffy if they lower the temperature down. And other thing is, I can't possibly move my workstation! The area is limited, and I have nowhere to go either. Urgh! So, I always have to wear a jacket and drink lots of warm water!

Oh my...I do hope your recovery is mighty swift! Sounds like you've been under the weather for waaaay too long already!

Hey Debi! Thanks. I really hope these annoying bugs will go away soon... because I'm already craving for my favourite food!
