Yesterday I posted a meme on vacationing, and it brought me such good memories of our New Zealand trip that I went home and began digging for some pictures we took...thought I'd share these with you. Here are some of my favourites (they are not really good shots because we took these from a videocam, and the rest are developed from films but I haven't got the time to scan them and put them all here. Moreover, they are too many!)

It wasn't even summer (it was towards winter season actually), and yet we found these beautiful yellow flowers by the roadside. I asked hubby to snap a picture of them because I don't think I will find them here.

A visit to the Kiwifruit Orchard. You wouldn't believe how excited I was! I was like drooling at those big, fat fruits and wished I could pluck them off the branches just like that.

This is another symbol of New Zealand - the silver fern. It has a silver-white colouration on the undersides, and the tour guide explained to us that this distinctive silver colour is useful for laying along tracks for night walking. Wow!

One of the natural reserves we visited. Just look at this waterfall! Whoa! Such a majestic view!

This lake is steamingly hot! And I just love the colour.

There are lots of mountains in New Zealand. The sceneries there are breathtakingly beautiful!

Look at the snow. It was extremely windy when we stood on these mountains. But I enjoyed the cold experience because we don't have four seasons here!

This is another great scenic spot. The tour guide told us that some of the scenes from The Lord of the Rings were shot at this place!

Sky Tower, Auckland

Isn't this beautiful? I wish I have a house like that. Over here, we stay in high rise apartments.

Are you kidding me, Mel? These photos are BEAUTIFULLY taken! The waterfall is breathtaking. Awesome. The wonder of God's creation... Please show more, Mel!!

I think I should start posting some of my webshots photos in my blog too. You're always the source of inspiration. Hehee... I'll call it "Photo Tuesday" of something like that. :D

Oh, I want to go! What beautiful pictures, Mel! I'm so glad you shared these...my daughter and I have been watching the LOTR trilogy this past week, and I've been in awe of the scenery. Sounds like a wonderful vacation!

Hi Julia! Thanks. :) Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Hey Jen! As you know, I can't wait to visit you both one day!!! And I wouldn't mind visiting NZ again, hehe.

Hi Alice! Thanks. :D I'm not sure if I've the time to scan those films...I think I've five albums. LOL. These pics were actually from videocam, that's why I'm able to load them without any hassle, hehe. And yeah! I'd love to see some of your pics and it's definitely a good idea to have a new meme. You should take the lead, yay! LOL.

Hey Debi, glad you liked them. Yeah, we enjoyed the visit very much. I think most of the tour members were very excited to visit the spot where they shot the LOTR. We were like "Ooh" and "Aah" after the tour guide introduced it to us. I'm sure we'd have made a great candid shot ourselves, hehehe...

  6. Great photos, Melody! I wish my husband and I could travel more. There are so many places I would like to see. Ho hum. Maybe someday.

Thanks, Wendy! I too would like to travel to more countries... I think NZ is the farthest we went! LOL.
