I took an afternoon off from work yesterday (as I mentioned some time ago that I need to clear some of my annual leave), but since I did not have the intention of going home, I visited the bookstore instead. Below is my latest acquisitions:

Cotillion by Georgette Heyer;

Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs;

Wish You Were Here by Rita Mae Brown;
and finally...

Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

I was glad I reserved my copy of Breaking Dawn in advance because when I browsed through the shelves, I could not find a single copy of it! (Although I did see a stack of reserved copies behind the payment counter.)

From what I read from some of the reviews circulating around the blogosphere, I noticed there are a mixture of both positive and negative reviews (I avoid those with spoilers though). I cannot wait to read this book, but since I have not read the previous installment, Eclipse, yet, it looks like I have to forgo my plan to read Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro next and devour this instead.

    Hi Melody, I like Eclipse and I hope you will too. :)

    I have placed Breaking Dawn in my wish list and it's before long I'll go get it. Hehehe...

    Cool books you've bought! Happy reading!

    I feel so incredibly out of the loop, I have the first three books of the Twilight series and haven't read any of them! I hope to polish them off some time this month.

    Alice - I'm enjoying reading Eclipse so far. :) Love reading the tension between Edward, Jacob and Bella.

    Ruth - I'm hoping you'll read this series soon! :)

    Those days you take the afternoon off from work make the bookstore people very happy, don't they? Looks like a nice pile of reading--hope you enjoy every one, Melody!

    What a great way to spend your afternoon off Melody!
    I did something I hardly ever do, I did read spoilers for Breaking Dawn on Amazon because I really wasn't sure if I was going to read this one. Now that I've read the spoilers I MUST read it because some of the stuff I just can't believe - ha,ha... I gotta read it for myself!

    I see a Heyer book on your stack - yay. I have that one waiting for me too. So far Lady of Quality is wonderful but I'm taking my time reading it so I still quite a bit more to go.

    I bought New Moon and Cry Wolf when I went shopping. I haven't read the Twilight series yet. I'm waiting to get them all first.

    My copy of Cry Wolf arrived today from the States (it isn't out in the UK yet). I bought Breaking Dawn on the UKs release day, Monday, and just finished it. It's so good I hope you love it too.

    Debi - I bet. :) I think I'll first devour Breaking Dawn from the list, haha.

    Iliana - You know, no matter if the reviews are good or not, I'd still read the book because everyone's reading preference is different. I can't wait to read your review on Lady of Quality though! :)

    Stephanie - I've read 1/3 of the book. I think I'd have finished it sooner if I bring it to work but the book is too bulky! ;)

    J Kaye - I can't wait to read your review on it!!

    Nymeth - Book shopping and reading is what I usually do on my off days. ;P

    Jen - That's great! I'm hoping you'll read this series soon. :)

    Rhinoa - I'm glad you bought Cry Wolf too! I've read your review on Breaking Dawn and am glad you enjoyed it so much! :)

  12. By the time I get to reading Breaking Dawn, I am sure I will have forgotten the spoilers I've read since the books came out. :-) I haven't read any of the books in the series yet.

    LOL. I feel the same way too, Wendy! I'm hoping you'll try the series someday, they're quite intense and entertaining. :)
