To save money, Ma made many of my clothes herself, even though she couldn't do it very well, so I had on a home-sewn shirt while the other kids were wearing cool T-shirts with English sayings like "Remember to Vote."

I just got a copy of this when I was in New York. I was also lucky enough to see Lisa See at one of the publisher events!
I see this one a lot on blogs and I think in Borders as well. I like that teaser!
I keep seeing this book and don't really know what it's about. Tempting quote! Hope it's turning out to be a good read.
