What with yesterday being Halloween, and all . . . do you read horror? Stories of things that go bump in the night and keep you from sleeping?
I thought about asking you about whether you were participating in NaNoWriMo, but I asked that last year. Although . . . if you want to answer that one, too, please feel free to go ahead and do both, or either, your choice!
Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!
Yes, I do read horror. In fact, I enjoy reading horror although I can't say the same for movies if they have too much grossy/bloody scenes, because I know I will cover my eyes most of the times but I will ask the people around me what I have missed thereafter, hehe. (I know... such a dilemma! LOL.) Usually, it is the horror movies that stays in my mind more than the horror stories I read.
As for NaNoWriMo... yes, I'm joining again this year! It is fun, and you will be surprised at how much you will write from those peer pressures, haha!
Finally, all the best to my fellow NaNoWriMo participants! :D The race is on...
I considered participating for Nano WriMo. But no plot emerged in my mind. Sigh!
Hmm I will have to look up what NaNoWriMo is I think. I have never heard of it!
I enjoy some horror, though I don't read a lot of it--Robert McCammon, Dean Koontz. I'd love to see some good recommendations.
Good luck with NaNo this year!
Good luck!
Good luck with NaNo, Melody! :D
May I know what is your ID so that I can add you as my writing buddy? Thanks...
Ever since I first heard of NaNoWriMo I've wanted to have a go, but November is exam month, unfortunately. Good luck!
I don't read horror at all--I'm such a chicken! When I am convinced (read: forced) to watch a horror film, I watch through my fingers, too!
I wish you the best of luck with NaNoWriMo!
I like a nice large cushion to hide behind for horror films - if I haven't got one then I suddenly realise the dog is asking to go out...
Good for you - good luck with the NaNo writing project. Hope it all goes great for you!
I absolutely cannot do any kind of horror. I'm a big chicken! :)
Happy Reading!!!
Same here. Horror films are much more in your face than books.
Best of luck with nano!
Jaimie: "Horror films are much more in your face than books."
only if you're sticking strictly to the current trend of gross-out movies. ever watched "Rosemary's Baby" and its ilk? :)
I love scary movies and stories. It's probably my favorite genre. But I just don't have the time for NaNoWriMo. I wish I did. I think it would be fun!
Good luck!
I'm cranking away on Nanowrimo too. Happy BTT.
Hi Gautami! You can still participate in NaNo...it' still not too late. Just write and the rest will flow... ;)
Hi Rhinoa! It's all about writing a novel at 50K words in Nov. It's pressurizing but kinda fun, LOL.
Hi Darla, thanks! I love Dean Koontz's books, but I'd still prefer his earlier works though.
Hi Chris! Thank you. :)
Hey Alice, thanks! The same goes to you. Will email you shortly... :D
Hi Coversgirl! Exams always go first. There's always a chance for you to participate in future. :) All the best for your exams!
Hi Mei, thanks! I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only timid one, hehe.
Hi GeraniumCat! I'm still chuckling over your remark. LOL.
Hi Stacy! Thank you. I'm ok with horror movies as long as they are PG rated, muhahaha...
Hi Jaimie! Those are exactly my thoughts.
Hi Heather, thanks! I have never watch "Rosemary's Baby"...I hope it's good?
Hi Stephanie! Me too. Indeed NaNo is fun...although it can drives a person crazy. LOL. Thanks for the well wishes.
Hi Pussreboots! We are all in the same boat! Good luck with Nano! :D
Hi, Melody! Good luck with NaNoWriMo! My husband is unofficially participating this month. I don't think he's written anything yet today just yet. :-) He's still thinking of ideas.
As for horror novels. I read some. I do like thrillers more than horror novels, but if the story is good, I am game to try just about anything.
Hi Wendy! Thank you. All the best to your husband as well. :)
I used to read more horror novels in the past, and I find that I prefer reading suspense or thrillers nowadays... perhaps it's the trend or mood changes, ha! But nevertheless, I enjoy reading horror stories although I can't say the same for movies. ;)
Hi Melody, good look with the Nano. I know you will do well on it...as always :)
I can not stomache reading too many horror books. Although a few would be okay. Now movies..that is an whole different thing all together *grin*
I just rather stick with my romance and romance suspense...with humors or good dialogue conversation between two main characters.
