Do you prefer hardcovers, trade paperbacks (the bigger ones), or mass market paperbacks (the smaller ones)? Why?
Honestly speaking, I love all editions as I think each is special in their own ways. I love hardcovers because they make a great collection and plus, they are more lasting. Trade paperbacks felt just right on all counts when it comes to the print and the size of the book. And I just love the mass market paperbacks for the convenience as I could always carry them around wherever I go.
The only thing that makes a great difference is the price, that's all.
What about you?
Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia from The Printed Page where readers get to share the books that came into their house last week; this month the host for Mailbox Monday is Avis of She Reads and Reads.
Here's what I received last week:
1) When Rose Wakes by Christopher Golden (bought from The Book Depository)
What books came into your house last week?
I agree that the only thing differ is the price. That when I call all the stop and make choice. Now that I've said that, I would say personally I prefer mass market paperbacks. Since it easier for me to carry around and it matches the sizes in my bookshelves. BUT I do have both hardcovers and trade size paperbacks. Some of their cover arts are really amazing when it is done in larger size books. It stand out more :)
Hi stopping by for Musing Mondays! I like your answer. Very true. Check out my answer at my blog:

Have a great Monday!
I agree with you about the trade paperback, but I must say I really dislike Mass market paperbacks. they don't hold up, they are awkward to hold...and the print is often very small! lol
'When Rose wakes' sounds really good, I just checked it out. Happy reading!
As to the type of books, I like them all, but hard cover books are in my opinion the best. The only negative thing about them is the price:)
I prefer hardback as they last longer - or the trade edition paperbacks.
Enjoy your mailbox book.
I think the thing with mass market pb is that they're so tightly bound that they're not comfortable to hold. My favorite is the trade pb size. I prefer them to hardbound.
I'm intrigued by the cover - are those feathers? Enjoy!
I feel the same about book types. My answer can be found here.
I am from Musing Mondays, I have my favorite, but read all.
Nice answer Melody! I used to be kind of a snob about this--always buying the hardcover, but now they're too expensive for how many books I buy and I find they're too big for me to carry around. I definitely opt for trade paperback whenever I can. Hope you're having a wonderful week so far!
Stopping by for Musing Mondays, and I like your answers. Very thoughtful and logical.

Oh yes, price matters! I like all editions and my current favorite is Kindle!
When Rose Wakes has a beautiful cover. I hope you like it! My mailbox is at The Crowded Leaf.
I had not heard of When Rose Wakes but now I am curious. The cover is beautiful! Enjoy!
That cover really has me wondering what the book is about.
I think my answer about book formats would be exactly the same as yours :P
I read a lot of "page heavy" books, so for comfort, I would choose mass market. However, if I intend to keep the book, I prefer hardcover. I'm keeping very very few of my books now, so I don't invest in a lot of hardcovers.
Overall, I prefer e-books. Then it's a tie between hardcovers and trade paperbacks. The only format I really don't like is the mass market paperback.
I love hardcovers because they look so nice but to be honest I prefer to read a trade paperback - just easier to hold up. Especially if it's a chunkster :)
I definitely love trade paperbacks best of all. In fact, I avoid hardcovers as much as possible. (Too heavy, too bulky and too expensive.)
Love the cover for the book you received this week!
happy reading. thats an interesting cover.
I like to collect harcovers from my favorite authors. But I do prefer the bigger paperbacks for every day reading.

It doesn't matter to me whether the book is hardcover or paperback. I'll take them any way I can get them. :)
Enjoy your new book!
I like hardcovers.
Looking forward to reviews from your Mailbox Monday books.
