With the holiday season now upon us, how does it affect your reading? Do you have more, or less, time to read at Christmas? Do you read Christmas themed/related books?
I suppose the holiday season or any other occasions do not really affect my reading. I read as usual and if opportunity and time allows me to do so. As for Christmas themed books, I would like to read them with the festive season just around the corner, but again this has to depend on my reading mood and whether or not if that book has sparked any interest on me. I bought some related books since the past few years but just have not got around to reading them yet, perhaps I need to read some of them this year!
What about you?
Hi Melody, I may not necessarily read Christmas books but will definitely read the Bible passages again especially on the birth of Jesus Christ because that's what Christmas is really about. :)
I always read the same amount everyday regardless of the occasion. I spending Christmas in the States for the first time in 10 years, so I'll have to come up with a plan. :) No specific holiday reads for me, unless I stumble upon something very special.
I agree! While I have more extra time during the holidays I don't read that much if I'm not feeling it.
I probably don't have Christmas-themed books that's why I don't get around to reading them :)
Alice - That's wonderful and so meaningful too! :)
Matt - I'm sure you'll have a wonderful Christmas in the States. I'm hoping I'd get the chance to visit U.S. one day! :)
Lightheaded - There's always this saying about having too many books but too little time to read! ;P
I generally don't read holiday books. Too many other books waiting in the wings!
My reading habits don't change during the holiday.
I have to be in the mood to read a holiday themed book as well. If I see one that looks good, I'll try to read it.

Beth - I totally understand! ;)
Bluestocking, Naida - That applies to me too unless the book has sparked my interest! :)
I would have to say my reading habits don't change much either during the christmas season. It depends more on my mood, which is affected if I don't read. I get cranky without my brain entertainment.
My post is up finally.

I have to say I'm not really big on Christmas themed books. I try not to let the holiday rush affect my reading but sometimes it's just inevitable.
I think I need to go to a cafe for one whole day and forget the world. Just enjoy some coffee and books and maybe then I can make a bit of a dent in my towering stacks! haha...
Robin - I can totally relate with you about not reading! I need to read at least one page a day! ;P
Iliana - You know, sometimes those holiday-themed books can be overwhelming, not that I'm complaining, LOL. But I suppose reading these holiday-themed books really helps with the festive mood. ;)
Good thing is that Christmas books are generally shorter! I just started my first one, but I think it will be the only one since my reading does slow down over the holidays. I'll definitely have to check out the Christmas Jars for next year, though!
Trish - I can't wait to hear what you're reading! Christmas Jars is a great Christmas read IMO.
