Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about social reading…
How much of your reading do you share with others (outside of blogging?) Do you belong to a book or library club? Do you trade books with friends? Do you tell others what you’re reading?
I don't have a lot of friends who read, or at least they do not read as many books like the way that I do but still I would suggest a few titles which I really loved to a few of them (whom I know will read sometimes) and they would read the books if they have piqued their interest (or curiosity).
I don't belong to a book or library club and honestly speaking, I don't think I will have the time and energy to meet at a place to discuss about books after work (though I would love to!) and my weekends are limited to my family (so that's one reason why I love this book blogging community so much!).
I rarely trade books with friends (that is because they seldom own the books) but I will put the books on to my BookMooch inventory if I have no intention of reading them again.
What about you?
Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia from The Printed Page.
I received the following books last week (bought from The Book Depository except #4):
1) Sing Them Home by Stephanie Kallos
2) We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
3) Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts (Bride Quartet Series #2)
4) The Girl on Legare Street by Karen White (review copy)
Great books in the mail! Happy reading :)

That is a sweet list of books you received! I don't have many friends that read like I do, but have been pleased with how many of them do take my suggestions. I also just joined a book club. There are some issues with it, but will stick it out. After all, it IS a night out with the girls, and we do spend a good amount of time talking about the book!
You got real sweet books in the mail!
Mondays: Musings/Mailbox Bonanza/Whereabouts
I share the same answer with you, Melody, on the Musing Mondays question. My friends don't enjoy reading and talking about books with them is a sure way of putting them to sleep. LOL!
I like the books you've got there especially the one by Shirley Jackson. It's been on my wishlist for so long. I'm still on BBB!
It wasn't until recent years that I was surrounded by other readers, and even then its limited. My family is full of readers though, so that is the exception. I still interact more with online book friends when it comes to book talk and such. My obsession with books and reading tends to be more understood in the online community. :-)
Enjoy your new books, Melody! I'm looking forward to reading The Girl on Legare Street too.
Your books look interesting, I'll have to check them out!
Naida, Gautami - Thanks, ladies! :)
Sandy - That's great that you joined a book club! I wish I've the time & energy for that, but the first thing that comes to mind when I get home from work is rest, relax, and spend some time with my two girls! Perhaps when they're older, I'll be able to join one! ;)
Alice - I hope you'll be able to buy books soon, Alice! I can't make myself go on a book ban as it seems too much of a 'torture' to me, LOL! I've no self control when it comes to book buying! :P
Wendy - I wouldn't know where I should ramble about books without you all so book blogging community rocks! ;)
I can't wait to hear what you'll think of The Girl on Legare Street when you get to it!
Vicki - Thanks! I hope you'll add them to your TBR list. :)
Great books! I really want to read We Have Always Lived in the Castle. I hope you enjoy it.
I will have to check out The Girl on League Street.
Have a few friends that I can share books with, but not as much as I would like.
a book club sounds like a nice idea...I am not sure it really would be, which is maybe why I don't look for one. But it sounds like a nice idea.
I always seem to have a few avid-reader friends to chat about books with. I used to belong to a lovely little book club; I'm toying with the idea of starting a new one in my new home.
I have the Girl on Legare Street to read as well. Happy reading.
I'm the same - not many bookish friends near me, but I use Bookmooch a lot!
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Castle :)
Kathy - I'm hoping to read that book before end of this year! ;)
Nise' - It's great to have some friends who share our passion for books, isn't it?
Caite - Indeed. I love the sound of a book club, but I don't seem to find too many of those here. Maybe there are, it's just that I'm not aware of it. ;P
Amy - That's a great idea about starting a book club of your own! I'd join if I'm living there! ;)
Serena - That's great! I can't wait to hear what you'll think of the book when you get to it!
Nymeth - I can't wait to read that book! I'm excited because it's a Shirley Jackson book! :D
I don't share my reading outside my blog a lot too, most of my friends don't read as much as I do.
You got the new Karen White book, awesome, I'm still waiting to get my hands on the first one :) Do let us know how you like the Nora Roberts book too.
Violet - Seems like a few of us don't have a lot of friends who read. ;) But we've this wonderful bookblogging community, don't we?
I haven't read the first installment of Karen's book, and I intend to do so soon (if I could find it since it's hidden somewhere in my huge TBR pile!) :P
Neither so i and like you i dn have the energy to go somewhere and discuss books. But I would love to do it if i have a chance!
So instead of that I generally discuss books with Hubby, telling him things i learn from books about countries and such :)
LOVELY stack of books girl!
I've read wonderful reviews about We've Always Lived in the Castle. Hope you'll enjoy it and your other books!
Veens & Iliana - Thanks, ladies! I can't wait to devour those books! :P
Hopefully I'll be able to read NR's Bed of Roses with you, if you hurry and the first book *LOL*
