Melody
I made a mistake. I did not realize I had posted some titles which are not published in 2009 until Jackie pointed them out to me (Thanks, Jackie!). In a haste of posting my answers for the meme, my mind kept thinking of "Top 10 Books Read in 2009" and needless to say, I did not check what are the years those books are published and of course some of them do not fit under that category.

Anyway, this is a revised post and here is a my list of the top 10 books of 2009:

Skin by Mo Hayder (Crime Thriller)
Stolen by Lucy Christopher (Young Adult, Fiction)
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater (Young Adult, Fantasy)
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (Young Adult, Sci-Fi)
The Heights by Brian James (Young Adult, Fiction)
Ash by Malinda Lo (Young Adult, Fantasy)
The Actor and the Housewife by Shannon Hale (Fiction)
The Lost Hours by Karen White (Fiction)
The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister (Fiction)
The Accidental Bestseller by Wendy Wax (Fiction)

Well that is a big bummer! I can tell you that when I do my top 10, the published dates are going to be all over the place. I am generally the last person to read anything! I just read Pride & Prejudice for the first time this year!

  2. Amy Says:

Wow! I've only read one of those. . .I'll have to check some of your reviews!

  3. Unknown Says:

It is great to see your revised post - sorry you had re-write your list!

I have only read Catching Fire and I'm afraid I wasn't a big fan of that.

I hope to read The School of Essentail Ingredients and Skin soon. Shiver and Ash are also hovering on my wishlist (not sure whether to add them or not) Great list!

I haven't read any of these books yet but have some of them on my tbr list and pile such as "Catching Fire" and "The School of Essential Ingredients". I'm going to check out several of your reviews for the books on this great list!

  5. Ana S. Says:

    Hmm...I don't think I've read 10 books that were published in 2009 :P

  6. Melody Says:

Sandy - Me too! I notice I didn't read too many books that are published in 2009. I've been too busy catching up on those past releases, hehe.

Amy - Just being curious... Which is the one which you've read? ;)

Jackie - I've to admit I do ponder over what to list while writing this revised post.

I hope you get to read those books soon!

Amy - I hope you'll enjoy reading them as much as I did!

Nymeth - We've too many books to read! :P

  7. Alice Says:

I'm going to have to read STOLEN very soon as it's listed here on your list of favorites and it's on my TBR!

  8. Ladytink_534 Says:

I've heard nothing but good things about all of these.

  9. Anonymous Says:

What have I been doing all year?! I haven't read ANY of these.

  10. Veens Says:

You have to read the 2nd book in the Millennium trilogy, I am sure you would like it and it would have made the list!

God, I don't have much books that were published this year!

  11. Melody Says:

Alice - Great! Can't wait to hear what you'll think of it!

Jen - That's one of the best things I love about this wonderful bookblogging community! We get all the great recommendations!

Stacy - I hope you'll get to read them soon!

Veens - As I told Nymeth, we've too many books to read! ;)

  12. I love lists like this, as you know. :-) I need to catch up with my Mo Hayder reading. Eventually I may read Collins' series, perhaps after the final book in the trilogy is released.

  13. Julia Says:

These are wonderful 10 lists you got here, Melody. But of course you know me well enough to know that I have not read any of these books. Except I've been thinking of trying Karen White's books. I guess I'm just an odd one out, who doesn't read a lot of genres YOU are reading ;)

Glad you enjoy these wonderful books and I hope you have more enjoyable books to read :)

  14. Iliana Says:

I always love reading everyone's top lists. I haven't put mine together yet as I always try to wait until the last possible minute - you never know if that best book will be the last book of the year! haha...

I have not read any of these books Melody but I can say that most of them are on my radar :)

  15. Melody Says:

Wendy - You know I love Mo Hayder's books! I just wish she could write faster! ;)

Julia - I hope you'll read Karen White's books soon! They're great IMO!

Iliana - I love reading everyone's top lists too! I always get great recommendations there. :D

  16. Brian James Says:

I'm honored to have been included.
