Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about tidy bookshelves.
Are your bookshelves strictly books only? Or have knick-knacks invaded? Do your shelves also shelve DVDs? Photos? Why not snap a photo – I’m sure we all like to spy on other’s shelves!
Most of my bookshelves are strictly limited to books only, however there is one bookshelf which I share with my husband and besides my books that occupies a shelf, the rest are filled with miscellaneous stuff like files, three Barbie dolls (two of them belong to my eldest daughter, and I bought one of Barbie being the Santa's assistant). Other stuff also include a few photo albums, dictionaries etc, and the bottom drawer of the shelf is where we keep all our stationery. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide a photo as I am currently in the office but I could share with you two of the older pictures which I had posted on my blog some time ago.
This is the shelf where I mentioned about my books and other misc. stuff. 
This is the other bookshelf where I keep some of my TBR pile with more photo albums (the drawers on the right). Today, most of my TBR pile are stored in our storeroom because they are just too many! What about you? Do you keep other things besides books in your bookshelves?

Oh, I love your bookcase. I like the glass doors!
My shelves are a damn mess. The problem is that part of the shelves are hogged by a bunch of old textbooks of mine and my husbands'. This is high on my to do list, to make room for all the books now sitting on the floor!
I wonder if doors on my bookshelves would cut down on the clutter that finds it way on them. Great shelves.

I used to have some knick knacks with my books but no longer. There isn't any room for anything other than books. lol.

Sandy - We used to have old textbooks taking up those bookshelves, but we threw some of them away or packed them into boxes. Now my issue is to make more room for upcoming piles in our storeroom!
Nise' - It's good to have doors on those shelves, one reason to prevent the books from falling out. ;P

Julia - They're the same shelves, Julia, just that the books are re-arranged, hehe. Yes, the dolls you sent are placed on one of those shelves which isn't shown on these pics. :D
One of those days I want one of those shelves with glass doors...then I won't have to dust :P
I love looking at others' bookshelves. I think that's also the first thing I do when I go to someone's home. Look for the bookshelves and see if we share some books :)

Iliana - I love looking at other people's bookshelves too. You can tell what type of reader they are just by looking at the books they read. :P

I don't keep anything in my bookshelves (mostly) but it's not that I mind. I just don't have large enough bookshelves to accommodate anything other than books.
