Just when I told myself I have had signed up enough reading challenges for Year 2008, this reading challenge comes along and I have to participate in this because I love the button so much. On top of that, the following books have been sitting in my TBR pile for some time and I need an extra push so this challenge arrives perfectly on time.
For this reading challenge, I have chosen Option 5.
As quoted from the post of the host, Kate's Book Blog: (Option 5: This is the custom option under the rubric of which you can tailor your reading list to best meet your personal reading aspirations. You might wish to craft a list that focuses on a particular place, or era, or genre. Or you might wish to include reading about short stories as well as of short stories, for example, such works as Frank O’Connor’s The Lonely Voice: A Study of the Short Story. It’s entirely up to you.)
I chose the following for its paranormal/fantasy theme:
- Holidays Are Hell by Kim Harrison, Lynsay Sands, Marjorie M. Liu & Vicki Pettersson
- Hell On Heels by Julie Kenner, Kathleen O'Reilly & Dee Davis
- Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman
Those will be fun, Melody! I look forward to reading your thoughts on the books and stories. I really like Neil Gaiman and am hoping to read more of him sometime in the future.
good luck with your reading Challenge Melody :)
Hi Wendy, thanks! I'm really looking forward to all the reading challenges this year. ;)
Thank you, Julia! :)
Damn I forgot about Fragile Things! Should be lots of fun.
Hey Rhinoa! You can always add on to your list, hehe... I can't wait to jump into this challenge. ;)
I never did get around to finishing Holidays are Hell because of the hectic holidays.
I couldn't resist this one either! I really should have my head examined, I suppose. But it was so easy to rationalize by saying "But they're only short stories!" And besides, you're right, the button is just too darn cute!
Happy New Year, Melody!
Ha,ha... I know what you mean. I keep saying no more new challenges but so many good ones keep coming up! I'm going to join this one too :)
Good luck and happy new year Melody!
Hi Jen! I understand; it happens to me too. ;)
Hey Debi! We share the same sentiments, haha.
Hi Iliana! All I can say is, these reading challenges are just soooo addictive, hehe.
Happy New Year, everyone!!! :D
