It’s an old question, but a good one . . . What were your favorite books this year?
List as many as you like … fiction, non-fiction, mystery, romance, science-fiction, business, travel, cookbooks … whatever the category. But, really, we’re all dying to know. What books were the highlight of your reading year in 2007?
Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!
This year is a great reading year for me with all the reading challenges, recommendations and all! I have several favourite books this year so I have shortlisted them for my Book of the Year (in fact have been dong this since 2005) which I have posted previously. (Please click here to read some of my favourites and which book that made it on the top of the list.) And based on this list, I can see there is an assortment of crime thrillers, romance suspense, fantasy and a few fictions. :-)
Hi, Melody! I decided to do a little contest this week. I'm not ready to list my favorites just yet.
It is really hard to pick a favorite! Some books I read several times, even more than once a year!
Hey Wendy! I have just posted my reply to your post. Am thrilled to hear about your contest though! ;)
Hi Oneluvgurl! I just saw your reply after replying to Wendy. ;)
I agree it's hard to pick on just one book; in fact I have considered several factors before I picked the book for my Book of the Year. ;)
Melody,
Sue Grafton is great! Her character Kinsey is awesome! I started reading her books about 12 years ago (I was 15 then and she had several published by then). The nice thing about her books is that she started so long ago that her character doesn't have a cell phone or the internet, even in the newer books. I just hope she finishes her series before she dies.
I wish we could put wikipedia as a reading source! I spend hours there.
P.S. I added you to my blogroll!
Hi Oneluvgurl! Thanks again for your comment. I have added you to my blogroll too. ;)
I have heard lots of great reviews about Sue's books, so I'm going to check out her books next year. Thanks! :)
Melody - you and I both know that Anne Stuart always remain our favorite of all times...she write a well "darn book" *grin*
I've been meaning to read "Talyn", and now I want to even more!
Happy BTT.
Hey Melody! Aaaaa... I see the connection that you and Julia has... Bastien... isn't it? isn't it? psssk pssssk...
I'm almost finished with Ice Storm!
I'm afraid to even attempt to go through what I read this year and try to make a list so I just listed my favorites that were published this year.
Great list! You have been reading some good stuff! Talyn is my TBR list and I must get at it!
I will have to keep your list in mind for future reading. The only one on your list I've read is The Memory Keeper's Daughter which I enjoyed. I also read a different book by Thomas H. Cook which I enjoyed so I will definitely keep his book in mind. Happy BTT.
Julia, I'm still chuckling after reading your "remark", hehe...
Hi Marianne! I'm hoping you will read Talyn soon! ;) I can't wait to hear what you think...
Alice! You have said the "forbidden" word, muhahaha... So what do you think of Ice Storm? ;P
Hi Jen! I understand what you mean. I treat it as a record so I can always refer to them through the years, hehe...
Hi Jamie! I'm hoping you will read Talyn soon too! ;) I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts after you all are done with it.
Hi Pussreboots! I really enjoyed reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter. Such an emotional read and so thought-provoking IMO. And I have heard lots of good reviews about Thomas H. Cook's books, hopefully I will get to all of his books in the near future! :)
i read two of your listed books this year - The Memory Keeper's Daughter and Twilight. i'm adding Talyn to my to-read list. thanks for the recommendation!
